Kale - the King of Cabbage
In northern Germany, kale traditionally makes its way to the table during the winter months. And it's served as hearty home cooking along with potatoes, Pinkel sausage, and Kasseler (cured pork loin).
Kale is now considered a trendy vegetable and is valued worldwide for its nutrients and positive properties.
Our kale is grown in Lower Saxony on the Cordes farm. The seeds come from our own cultivation. After harvesting, the young leaf sprouts are gently dried and ground into powder.
Our Own Cabbage Varieties from Northern Germany
The superfood is exclusively grown on the family farm in northern Germany near Vechta. The seeds come from our own cultivation, which is why we also produce them ourselves.
What's in it?
- High content of lutein and zeaxanthin (carotenoids)
- Potassium
- Vitamins (Vitamin K, Vitamin C, Vitamin A (beta-carotene)
- Calcium
Fresh kale contains a lot of potassium, vitamin K and vitamin C, and is rich in beta-carotene (plant-based vitamin A). Furthermore, it is the vegetable with the highest calcium content. Our powder also contains particularly high levels of lutein and zeaxanthin (carotenoids).
Carotenoids belong to the secondary plant compounds and can only be formed by plants. The carotenoid lutein is always accompanied by zeaxanthin and is found with it predominantly in dark green leafy vegetables.

Our Tip
Research the ingredients of kale in specialized literature, with naturopaths, doctors, or nutritionists; there is also a lot to be found online. For example, lutein and zeaxanthin are not widely known, and nature has come up with quite a few things. Important: pay attention to good sources.
